Metropolitanos Lose Contest, 5-2
|
Jeong Lee, who finished 3rd in the EC in ERA with 2.46 in 2080, propelled his team to victory over the Havana Metropolitanos. The final score was 5-2, Philadelphia. Lee, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Philadelphia is now 26-32.
Earl Carpenter had a big run-scoring double for the Spectres in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Joyee Cameron and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spectres ahead, 2-0.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
