Arrows Get Thrilling 10-9 Win
|
The outcome was not decided until the very end at Power Ballpark.
Behind the hitting of Danny Nieto, the Seattle Arrows stopped the San Diego Destroyers, 10-9, in 10 innings. Nieto went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Arrows. Justin Blankenhorn, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings.
The Arrows got a clutch hit from shortstop Jason Lingo. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Arrows.
"This place went bonkers," Lingo said.
The Arrows, at 29-29, sit in third place in the Western Conference John Sexton Division.
