Trailing in the League Championship, the Santiago Avispas responded nicely, stopping the Las Vegas Aces by a final score of 2-1 at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Santiago right-hander Jimmy Biair threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. With the win, Santiago moved into a 1-1 tie with Las Vegas in their extended-length, best-of-9 affair.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Avispas had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when center fielder Daichi Sakai hit a 2-run home run. The home run came off Relly Crousse and made the score 2-0, Avispas. Sakai went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Sakai said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Western Coliseum in Las Vegas.
