Phantoms Score Late to Upend Aces, 3-1
|
The Chicago Phantoms earned a close win over the Las Vegas Aces, thanks in part to Taisei Yamamoto. The Chicago right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. John Liberty got the save, the 1st for him this season. The loss drops Las Vegas to 4-1.
Jose Buezo came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Yamamoto.
