Baltimore Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the St. Louis Gaedels and Baltimore Kings came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The St. Louis Gaedels downed the Baltimore Kings, 5-0, at AT&T Park. Stellar pitching by Brent Lannin had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, the 26th overall pick in the 2076 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Baltimore drops to 3-3.
Marco Barocio had a big run-scoring triple for the Gaedels in the top of the fourth inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from Stuart Stephenson, who finished 5th in the EC in innings pitched with 215.0 in 2078, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gaedels ahead, 2-0.
"I had everything working," said Lannin.
