Las Vegas Draws First Blood in League Championship With 4-2 Win
The Las Vegas Aces wasted no time taking the lead in the League Championship, beating the Santiago Avispas at Estadio Guillermón Moncada by the score of 4-2. The win gives Las Vegas a 1-0 lead in the best-of-9 series. Aces left-hander Omezo Suyama threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

Juan Carrizales had a direct impact on the outcome. Carrizales contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Las Vegas up, 3-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Las Vegas skipper Justin Coroian. "I can't complain."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio Guillermón Moncada in Santiago de Cuba.
