Avispas Capture Close Win
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Santiago Avispas and Toronto Juggernauts.
In a low-scoring affair between the Santiago Avispas and the Toronto Juggernauts, pitcher Beau Eschmann was the difference between victory and defeat. The Santiago right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Avispas win. Aaron Ranks got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Sergio Folha, who won the Hitter of the Year Award in 2072, helped out the Santiago cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3.
"Beau made some big pitches when he needed to," said Avispas manager Jacob Pauly.
Santiago leads the Eastern Conference Walker Division by 6½ games.
