Chicago Hands Kansas City 7-6 Loss
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Zhong-shan Geng, the Chicago Phantoms stopped the visiting Kansas City Athletics, 7-6, in Game 2 of the Conference Championship. Geng went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Phantoms, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
In the bottom of the third, Chicago center fielder Alberto Guardiola had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Guardiola stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 7-0, Chicago. For the game, he went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"It's still just a game," said Guardiola, "whether you win or lose."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Missouri in Kansas City.
