Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Kings, 5-4
Game 5 was big. So was Cruz Vaquez.

In leading Baltimore to a crucial 5-4 victory over the Maine Lobster at AT&T Park, the Baltimore starter rose to the occasion, tossing 7 good innings. Vaquez threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball as the Kings defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Had Danny Rubio not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Rubio hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Kings.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Portland in Portland.
