Hickey, Rangers Wallop Gaedels in Game 4 of DS
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Cole Hickey, the Buffalo Rangers got a road win against the St. Louis Gaedels, 8-1, in Game 4 of the Divisional Series. Hickey went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 6 for the Rangers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
In the top of the first, Hickey pounced on a 2-1 slider from Ben Ford and hit a grand slam home run. It put Buffalo on top, 4-0.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Hickey said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bison Stadium in Buffalo.
