Athletics Heading to Conference Championship
|
The Kansas City Athletics triumphed 3-1 over the Denver Glaciers at Mountain Dew Park in the Divisional Series to capture it 4-2.
The victory advanced the Athletics to the Conference Championship.
For his superb play in the series, Athletics catcher Sean Waterhouse garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .421, scoring 0 runs and batting in 7.
"Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the League Championship," Waterhouse said later. "I'll get to work on that."
The Kansas City Athletics don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Portland Dragons - Chicago Phantoms series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
