The Kansas City Athletics got a strong performance from pitcher Roberto Rueda, who stymied the visiting Denver Glaciers en route to a win, 9-0, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. The Glaciers could never get a bead on the left-handed Rueda, who threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The Athletics now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Rueda earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Kansas City. The left-hander allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 11. Denver hitters had little success against him.

"Roberto did exactly what you're supposed to, pounding the zone," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mountain Dew Park in Denver.
