In a crucial game, the Portland Dragons put on their best show, beating the Chicago Phantoms by a final score of 5-4. Craig Kruppenbacher threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Portland and Chicago are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Portland used the timely hitting of Jairo Cedillo to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dragons on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Portland manager Greg Carpenter praised his team's "businesslike approach."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Foster Field in Chicago.
