Aces Beat Vikings, 6-2, to Start DS
|
The Las Vegas Aces wasted no time taking the lead in the Divisional Series, beating the Minneapolis Vikings at Minneapolis Grounds by the score of 6-2. The win gives Las Vegas a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Aces left-hander Omezo Suyama threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Juan Carrizales came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Minneapolis pitcher Zee-loo Kim, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Las Vegas on top, 3-2.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Minneapolis Grounds in Minneapolis.
