Home Loss Shrinks Phantoms Series Lead to 3-2
The Portland Dragons have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Chicago Phantoms, winning, 6-5, at Foster Field. Dragons left-hander Yahya Kanoro went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Dragons to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

There was more than one reason the Dragons beat the Phantoms, but Kanoro's big at-bat in the top of the sixth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 6-5 lead when he hit a grand slam home run.

"Yahya had good arm action, good stuff," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Foster Field in Chicago.
