The Phoenix Thunderbirds grabbed a win, 11-5, over the Tucson Toros at Aetna Stadium. Phoenix first baseman Juan Rivera was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The save went to John Intriago, his 3rd this season. The win has Phoenix at 17-39.
With Phoenix leading 2-0 in the top of the first, Rivera hit a fastball from Tony Masso for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to get this one," said Rivera. "Wins have been hard to come by."
