2-1 Win Sends Havana to 34-21
|
Luis Casillas, who is tied for 4th in the EC in wins with 6, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Havana Metropolitanos win against the Miami Cyclones. Casillas, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. At 34-21, the Metropolitanos claim first place in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division.
Casey Marko, who is tied for 7th in the EC in runs scored with 36, helped out the Havana cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"We did just enough to win," Marko said.
