Greens Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
Hurler Su-shun Nie gave the Boston Greens a solid start. The native of Liaocheng, Shandong helped his team defeat the Santiago Avispas, 2-1, at Arrington Park. The Greens improved their record to 24-30 with the win over Santiago.
With the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, left fielder Nelson Garcia delivered big for the Greens. Boston was trailing 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.
"Su-shun had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
