Gaedels Lose at Home, 9-5, to San Diego
Matthew Allen was instrumental in his team's 9-5 triumph over the St. Louis Gaedels. The shortstop went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the San Diego Destroyers. Keaton Bozek, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Fish Rablood was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Axel Castiglione had a big 3-run home run for the Destroyers in the top of the second inning. With San Diego leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Brent Lannin, the 26th overall pick in the 2076 draft, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 6-0.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Destroyers manager Steve Alstadt. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

The Destroyers win now puts them at 22-33.
