The San Francisco Friars and Vancouver Wolves obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The San Francisco Friars stopped the Vancouver Wolves, 7-6, at Staples Field. The Friars got a big game from Bob Buell, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cruz Ponce picked up the save for San Francisco, his 4th of the year.

With San Francisco leading 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Buell hit a fastball from Chris Chavarria for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Friars ahead, 7-3.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Buell.

The last-place Friars improved to 25-31.
