Stars Win at Home, 7-3
|
The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Kansas City Athletics, 7-3, in part because of designated hitter Adir Barrabi. Barrabi went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Stars. The Athletics, now 17-37, have lost 4 in a row.
Al Anzaldua, who finished 3rd in the WC in doubles with 51 in 2082, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Kansas City skipper Joe Monagle.
