Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Minneapolis Vikings and Kansas City Athletics.
Al Joly pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Kansas City Athletics, despite Joly's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Minneapolis Vikings at Minneapolis Grounds. Frank Macias picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-2. He struck out 4 in 5 innings.
Gentaro Arakawa broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the third with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Vikings in front, 3-2. For the game, Arakawa drove in 2 runs.
Arakawa attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
The win puts Minneapolis at 37-18 this season.
