Las Vegas Defeated by Chicago, 4-1
|
The Chicago Phantoms defeated the Las Vegas Aces, 4-1, in Western Conference action at Western Coliseum. Chicago pitcher Juzo Matsumoto had a standout performance. The save went to Simone Banatoni, his 6th this season. Chicago is in first place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division with a record of 31-24.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Kenny Leek to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Phantoms ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Matsumoto.
