Kodiaks Suffer 5-4 Home Loss
|
Denver beat Alaska at Tundradome, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Yasuhiro Tsumoto. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save was credited to Ricky Minjarez, his 2nd. Denver is now 25-29, Alaska 26-29.
Tsumoto had a timely hit for Denver in the top of the sixth. With Denver trailing 4-3, he turned a full count fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Denver.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Tsumoto.
