Steve Stout helped his team muscle past the Philadelphia Spectres, 8-3. In the game, the Boston left fielder went 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Al Nieves was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was Akashi Kurosawa. With the victory, the Greens upped their record to 26-26.

The Spectres had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Greens going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Travis Glazebrook came to the plate. Glazebrook hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch splitter from Philadelphia hurler Akashi Kurosawa. It was Glazebrook's 6th double of the year.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Philadelphia skipper Ryan Huff.
