Multi-HR Game for Zakharov in 6-2 Win
|
The St. Louis Gaedels defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-2, at Minneapolis Grounds. Leading the charge for St. Louis was right fielder Luke Zakharov. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The victory gives the Gaedels a record of 26-26.
Luis Nungaray drew 1 walk for St. Louis. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Frank Macias. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"Winning is always a team effort," Nungaray said after the game.
