Senators Deal Arrows 5-3 Setback
|
Led by Alex Tejeda, the Washington Senators downed the Seattle Arrows, 5-3. Tejeda went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Senators. Toby Harrison, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-3. Julio Mendoza was called on to finish, recording his 15th save.
Tejeda had a timely hit for Washington in the top of the sixth. With Washington trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-2 sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Washington.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Tejeda, "and go after the next one."
With the win, Washington has a record of 26-28. Seattle falls to 22-31.
