Wicks Belts Bunch of Base Hits
It seemed that Baltimore first baseman Harold Wicks could do no wrong as the Kings KO'd the Stars, 8-7. Wicks rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Stars hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Kings were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Los Angeles fan after the game.

"I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Wicks in the postgame press interview.

Harold Wicks singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Mills in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.

Looking at his season stats, Wicks has compiled a .327 batting average and a .410 on-base percentage, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 24 runs.
