In a low-scoring contest between the Vancouver Wolves and the Los Angeles Stars, Jarrod Beckman was the X factor. The Vancouver right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Beckman yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3. Cody Goings collected save number 6.

Ken Draves came through with a big-time hit for Vancouver. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Beckman.

Vancouver occupies second place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division at 29-24.
