Though he had a great game, Victor Verdugo could not single-handedly produce a win for Toronto. Brooklyn won the game, 3-2. Verdugo went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Ocean Mendoza was called on to finish, recording his 8th save. Brooklyn, at 27-26, sits in second place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division.

Jimmy Keener had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Brooklyn. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Brooklyn in front, 2-0.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Toronto manager Marc Arnold.
