Friars Earn 4-2 Road Win Over Kansas City
|
The San Francisco Friars picked up a win at Ballpark of Missouri, downing the Kansas City Athletics, 4-2. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Kelvin Vaquera, who played a pivotal role in the win. Earning his 2nd save for San Francisco was Cruz Ponce. San Francisco, at 23-31, sits in last place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
San Francisco used a clutch at-bat from Takanobu Tabata to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Friars ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
