McLaughlin, Thunderbirds Too Much for Senators
Phoenix left fielder Cody McLaughlin contributed significantly to his team's 8-2 win over the Washington Senators. McLaughlin went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds, at 22-29, sit in 4th place in the Western Conference Mike Stump Division.

With Phoenix leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, McLaughlin hit a fastball from Dominic Hogg for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 5-2.

Phoenix manager Joe Busch commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
