Glaciers Prevail, 4-2, Over Phoenix
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Denver Glaciers and Phoenix Thunderbirds.
The Denver Glaciers picked up a win at Mountain Dew Park, knocking off the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 4-2. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Earl Starr. He played a key role in the triumph. The win gives the Glaciers a record of 5-0.
The Glaciers got a big at-bat from third baseman Alexjandria Leija. For the game, Leija went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Denver a 3-2 lead.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Starr.
