The Vancouver Wolves eked out a 1-0 win versus the Los Angeles Stars at Stars Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Pinon. He was terrific. In 7.1 innings, Pinon surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Wolves improved to 28-24.

Per Fronteira, who led the WC in batting average with .356 in 2081, had a direct impact on the outcome. Fronteira contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Vancouver up, 1-0.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Fronteira after the game.
