Kruppenbacher Plays Big Role in Chicago Win
Craig Kruppenbacher pitched a gem in leading Chicago to a 5-1 victory over the Phoenix Thunderbirds. The last-place Thunderbirds have dropped 5 straight games.

It was a masterful performance from the popular Kruppenbacher, who notched 4 strikeouts in 8.1 innings while allowing 3 hits. Kruppenbacher, who finished 5th in the EC in innings pitched with 212.0 in 2082, goes to 5-2 on the year with 57 strikeouts.

Afterward, Phoenix manager Joe Busch said: "We were guessing wrong on pitches, and that's something we've got to get away from."
