The Philadelphia Spectres defeated the Maine Lobster, 7-3, in Eastern Conference action at Ballpark of Portland. Philadelphia pitcher Chae-pong Kim had a standout performance. Kim, the winner, moves to 12-8. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. The Spectres now have a record of 68-92 with the win over Maine.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Steve Bedoya to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spectres ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Kim.
