Santiago beat Maine on the strength of starting pitcher Beau Eschmann's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-1. Santiago occupies first place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division at 36-14.

The Lobster had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Avispas going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Jeremy Aldrich came to the plate. Aldrich hit a bases-clearing double on a 2-0 fastball from Maine hurler Eikki Hostikka. It was Aldrich's 7th double of the year.

"Beau was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Santiago manager Jacob Pauly.
