In a tight game between the Washington Senators and the Phoenix Thunderbirds, pitcher Xiong Loh was terrific on the mound. The Washington right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. Rafael Morales picked up the save, his 6th. The Senators now have a record of 24-27.

Washington took a 2-0 lead on Jeff Crandall's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Crandall hit in the top of the eighth, left Phoenix pitcher Shunsen Maekawa visibly frustrated.

"Every loss stings," said Phoenix manager Joe Busch. "This one is no exception."
