Santiago Dealt 8-6 Defeat
Spirited fans greeted the Santiago Avispas for their clash with the Philadelphia Spectres.

The Philadelphia Spectres racked up a win at Estadio Guillermón Moncada, bumping off the Santiago Avispas, 8-6. Alex Laso, who started for Philadelphia, pitched effectively for his team. Laso, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. John Frye earned the save for Philadelphia, his 4th of the year.

Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Dave Palacios to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spectres ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Laso. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The loss makes Santiago 35-16.
