Harfangs Get Close Win Over Avispas, 9-8
Harfangs fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.

The Montreal Harfangs beat the Santiago Avispas by a score of 9-8. Montreal right fielder Ray Garcia deserved the lion's share of the credit. Garcia was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Harfangs. Montreal reliever Williams Martinez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Rico Sustaita.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Montreal pinch hitter Freddy Gonzales, facing Chris Knarr, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Harfangs the 9-8 win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Garcia said.

With the win over Santiago, the Harfangs improved to 87-70.
