The Las Vegas Aces could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Omezo Suyama into a win. Instead, the San Francisco Friars prevailed, 4-3. Suyama threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. The winner in relief was Alex Laso. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. The win lifted the San Francisco record to 85-71.
Had George Meilleur not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Meilleur hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Friars.
Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
