Dragons Stumble, Lose to Metropolitanos
The Havana Metropolitanos knocked off the Portland Dragons, 9-2, in Eastern Conference action at Portland Park. Havana pitcher and Little Rock, Arkansas, native Alex Zapien had an outstanding performance. Zapien, now 4-9, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The third-place Metropolitanos sport a record of 74-81.

Havana used the timely hitting of Alex Zendejas to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Metropolitanos on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
