Juggernauts Stun Greens, 4-2
|
Toronto designated hitter Matt Salmon contributed significantly to his team's 4-2 win over the Boston Greens. Salmon, who led the EC in RBI with 144 in 2079, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Juggernauts. The winning pitcher was Luis Basurto. His record now stands at 2-4. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Juggernauts. Jesus Carbajal collected his 2nd save.
Salmon had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Martin Zambello, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Juggernauts a 4-2 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Salmon.
"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Toronto manager Marc Arnold.
The 'W' lifts Toronto's record to 20-29.
