A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houston Aquas and Tucson Toros.

Tucson center fielder Etsuji Obata had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-3, to Houston at Aetna Stadium. Obata was 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ricky Zika, who finished 5th in the WC in innings pitched with 196.0 last year, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Houston used the hitting of Al Anzaldua to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Aquas on top, 4-1. For the game, Anzaldua had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
