Destroyers Take Tight Tangle
The Portland Dragons got a superb performance from pitcher Lanzo Huitron, but the San Diego Destroyers still won the game, 4-3. Huitron threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was John Rochford in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Ryan Mena took the loss. San Diego has won 4 straight, while Portland has lost 4 in a row.

Jason Gonzalez was the walk-off hero for San Diego. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Destroyers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Gonzalez said.
