Glaciers Win with Late Rally
|
The Denver Glaciers battled the Washington Senators into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Glaciers won it, finally, 3-2, in 12 innings. In the game, Denver third baseman Alexjandria Leija went 2 for 3 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Glaciers have won 4 in a row.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Denver. That's when Alex Guilzar hit a run-scoring double off former first round draft pick Josh Breaux to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Guilzar, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
