Glaciers Lick Aquas, 5-1
|
Denver Glaciers starter Tadeu Carneira turned in an exceptional performance against the Houston Aquas at Tesoro Stadium, resulting in a Denver win, 5-1. Carneira yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-4. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Shane Shackelford.
Adam Wysocki helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give Denver a 1-0 lead.
"Do what you're good at," said Denver manager Todd Bleess. "That's all I ask of the team."
Denver, at 18-32, holds down last place in the Western Conference Jonas Division.
