Win Lifts Harfangs to 26-22
|
The Montreal Harfangs weathered an outstanding game by Havana left fielder Willie Flores to topple the Metropolitanos, 6-5. Flores was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. Gavin Jorjadze, who finished 3rd in the WC in ERA with 2.44 in 2073, earned the save for Montreal. The Harfangs, at 26-22, sit in second place in the Eastern Conference Paul Pagac Division.
Tommy Bomba, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a double.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Bomba. "You've got to get results."
