Maine Lobster starter Ted Ayres pitched his team past the Miami Cyclones, 4-2. Ayres got the win, improving to 5-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Maine's record now stands at 32-17, placing them first in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division.
Maine used a well-timed hit by Jacob Testaverde to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Lobster ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Ted is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Maine manager Matthew McExpos.
