Twins Knock Off Portland, 6-2
|
The Cincinnati Twins picked up a win at Portland Park, knocking off the Portland Dragons, 6-2. Starting pitcher Ryan Surette played a key role in the triumph. Surette, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Cincinnati has a record of 21-27, placing them 4th in the Eastern Conference Muldoom O'Mulmohery Division.
Cincinnati took a 5-2 lead on Alex Sierra's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Sierra hit in the top of the eighth, left Portland pitcher Oscar Mercado visibly frustrated.
Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
