The Brooklyn Browns got a superb performance from pitcher Jay Barrientos, but the Maine Lobster still won the game, 8-2. Barrientos threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball. Aaron Kopta, who is tied for 9th in the EC with a 3.07 ERA, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. The Lobster are now 23-25, while the Browns fall to 20-27.
Justin Zehr came through with a big-time hit for Maine. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
